- Focus Groups—To test the usability of the site design, its navigation, and information architecture, the usability specialists recruit a small focus group from the client’s user base. They present either prototypes or new concepts to them and record the participant's reactions to the new ideas to test the validity of the design, navigation, and architecture assumptions.
- Usability Testing—To conduct final usability testing, the specialists recruit approximately eight people to perform tasks using prototypes of the final site.
