American Association of Orthodontists Insurance Company
Solutions: design/identity, contnet management, custom applications
Verticals: associations, corporate

The AAOIC was created by orthodontists for orthodontists and is an insurance company wholly owned by its insured shareholders, who are all members of the American Association of Orthodontists. AAOIC is also directed by a team of orthodontist colleagues and managed by experienced AAO staff and proven insurance professionals.  The company's primary responsibility is to manage the AAO-endorsed insurance plans for the AAO.

Upon the recommendation of the AAO, the AAOIC selected Fig Leaf Software to redesign their public Web site and implement the CommonSpot content management system so that their non-technical staff could easily administer and manage Web site content.

The AAOIC Web committee is comprised of members located around the United States.  Working with the AAOIC team, Fig Leaf determined that the most effective way to facilitate the creative session would be remotely using Macromedia Breeze Web conferencing software.

Following the creative session, Fig Leaf created design mock-ups (comps) for review by the AAOIC Web team.  The AAOIC team selected a new design that integrated seemlessly with their existing print collateral.  Fig Leaf's creative team delivered the new design to the programming team.  Fig Leaf implemented the new design within the CommonSpot Content Management System and worked closely with the AAOIC team to decide which features of the new CMS would be implemented.

The implementation project was carried out in strict accordance with a predetermined project plan and was completed on time and under budget.  Constant communication regarding subtle changes and improvements between the two teams made this an extremely timely and smooth execution.

This new CMS implementation has enabled the AAOIC members to more readily access online information, including the new online premium quote functionality created by Fig Leaf as part of the custom development portion of the engagement.
