Fig Leaf worked with the DRI team to improve the information architecture, identify key site elements (e.g., Navigation, Search, Security databases, etc.) and how the site would interact with and meet the needs of users. Fig Leaf created an intuitive and appealing visual design and developed new home page and template designs. Fig Leaf then integrated the templates into their new content management system, CommonSpot, providing a consistent look and feel throughout the Web site and its sub-sites.
Fig Leaf created a solution that allows non-technical content contributors to easily manage sections and components of the Web site. The ability to easily update, add and change content on the site is critical to the DRI as the organization provides a wide variety of certified legal educational programming to its members, including 20 on-site seminars each year, an Annual Meeting, and regular regional programs.
The DRI also has several publications including For the Defense, a monthly periodical, and a Defense Library Series, which publishes compendiums of articles, devoted to specific defense litigation related subjects. Since the DRI has over 26 Substantive Committees, each of which publishes newsletters and other scholarly material each year with respect to their area of practice, Fig Leaf created sections of the site for the implementation of secure collaboration.
The site links to the DRI Expert Witness Database, a growing expert database collected through its members’ resumes, depositions and transcripts from expert witnesses.
