Lenovo Privacy Essentials by FigLeaf Privacy Notice

The Lenovo Privacy Essentials by FigLeaf Privacy Notice (“Privacy Notice”) describes:

  1. how Lenovo collects, uses, stores or otherwise processes an individual's personal data in the context of the Lenovo Privacy Essentials by FigLeaf;
  2. describes the data sharing relationship between Lenovo Vantage, Lenovo toolbar and the Lenovo Privacy Essentials by FigLeaf applications

Before you proceed with registration of the Lenovo Privacy Essentials app and using its features, you should be aware that doing so adds to the relationship between you and Lenovo. Lenovo Is the data controller of your personal information. When we use the term “FigLeaf” we mean the Lenovo Privacy Essentials software developer and service provider, FigLeaf App Inc., the data processor.

Product Definition for this Privacy Notice:

Lenovo Vantage means the preinstalled multipurpose software application by Lenovo https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht505081

Lenovo Privacy Essentials by FigLeaf (“LPE”) means the optional privacy software application as a part of Lenovo Vantage software package.

Lenovo Vantage Toolbar (“Toolbar”) means the desktop widget for Lenovo Vantage software application.

FigLeaf App means any non-Lenovo branded version of Lenovo Privacy Essentials (mobile, Mac or alternate version of Windows) that can sync SafeLogin stored data between the FigLeaf App and Lenovo Privacy Essentials.

Exposed Data Scan means the service in Lenovo Privacy Essentials that searches for evidence that your personal data (accounts information in the form of an email, password or combination) was posted in a possible unlawful manner on the dark web.

SafeLogin means the LPE feature that collects you account login information, username and password, stores and encrypts the login information and form fills the information when you logon to websites or online services

Private Connect means the service that hides your device IP from a website to which you connect while browsing.

Email Masking means the LPE service that provides an email alias for sending and receiving emails instead of your primary email address.

Device Sync means the LPE feature that enables you to share your SafeLogin data and privacy configuration with multiple devices running LPE or the FigLeaf App.

Privacy Awareness Updates means the FigLeaf communication on newsworthy privacy events, breaches, alerts, tutorials, promotions, product updates and offerings available to you.

This Privacy Notice concerns the specific personal data processing activities conducted in the context of the Lenovo Privacy Essentials by FigLeaf. This Privacy Notice governs the enhanced relationship between you and Lenovo, the disclosure of your collected personal information, the use of your personal data and the how you may exercise your rights regarding this information. Installing the Lenovo Privacy Essentials Application

When you choose to install Lenovo Privacy Essentials by FigLeaf application, Lenovo requires you to provide certain personal data, as described in table 1 below, to complete registration for the purpose of enabling you to use the LPE application’s features in performance of the FigLeaf End User License Agreement which can be found here. When you use LPE, FigLeaf processes all data collected by this application. You can learn more about FigLeaf’s privacy practices here.

As part of Lenovo’s data processing arrangement with FigLeaf, Lenovo requires that FigLeaf maintains information security best practices, makes all reasonable efforts to secure your data and only processes your data for the purposes listed in Table 1.

Lenovo Privacy Essentials specific consent mechanisms and how to use them.

In order to process your personal information, when it is necessary, Lenovo will ask your consent within the Lenovo Privacy Essentials app for specific consent items. Table 2 describes how you can grant and withdraw your consent to specific consent items.

Deletion of Your Personal Data

Within the LPE App, you may delete your data as described in Table 2. Should you choose to ask us to delete your data, we will delete your data within 30 days of your request. At that time, we destroy your data and it is not recoverable.
